Clan Na Gael Camogie Club make history

Clan Na Gael Camogie Club made history on Sat 5^th May as the Under 12 Camogie Team became the first ever Clan Na Gael Camogie Team to play and compete in Croke Park.  The girls were the only team from Armagh to be selected to participate in the first ever Camán to Croker Go Games competition in Croke Park.  48 clubs and 720 camogie players played on the pitch over the course of the day and each girl got to experience the Croke Park GAA museum tour.  The girls were privileged to meet with the President of the Camogie Association, Aileen Lawlor.

In their first match Clan Na Gael played Clonea from Waterford which resulted in a draw, in their second match they played Cobh from Cork and were defeated.  In their third and final match they played Tulsk from Roscommon and were victorious in their win.  Each girl impressed with their camogie skills on the hallowed turf of Croke Park.  The girls had a fantastic day, one which they will remember for the rest of their lives and Clan Na Gael would like to thank the Camogie Association for organising such a special event.

A big thanks goes to the coaches Áine French and Ciara Austin who are helping these young players to participate, enjoy and learn the skills of camogie and to all members of the Clan Na Gael Camogie Committee for the huge amount of work and effort in getting these girls to Croke Park.
